Seems like no month goes by without having to talk about these guys. Well they're back again and back to badass and strong messages with their 2nd mini album One Shot.

Punch was the intro heard in the One Shot video. I don't like the song much. Its just too loud and sounds kinda like No Mercy with a marching band. Though i like when Zelo comes in with the drums and when the music stops and he does his LTE rap line. They finally changed up their usual formula of Bang's Engrish intro,Bang verse 1, Daehyun chorus, Zelo verse 2, Youngjae/Daehyun bridge which ends with Daehyun yelling and oh yeah random line from Himchan and Jongup somewhere in there. Didn't change much but at least it wasn't that same exact order as they've done in other songs. To be fair other singers even beyond kpop do have formulas too.
One Shot is the title track with a drama video that has great acting, eye catching dance moves, the guys looking oh so fine, Hypeman Him getting more than one line and just B.A.P back to the warriors we were introduced to in the beginning. I love the orchestra and the vocalizing choir in the chorus giving the song an epic feel which is a great instrumental for the inspirational lyrics. Its basically telling folks that they only have one chance to work hard and live their life to the fullest. I love how Zelo's verse is like he's telling fans to stop being delusional fanatics and do something other than focusing on celebrities(or is it just me who thought of that). The video tied well with the lyrics showing how if you make the wrong decision trying to take the easy way out with your one shot the consequences will be regrettable(them being thugs who end up getting busted/killed). Extra point for Jongup talking about jumping over walls blocking your way after he leap frogs over Himchan. Zelos b boy moves were easily one of the highlights of the video. Him hitting the moves to that heavy "boom boom clap" beat then into the scorpion was brilliant. The choreography had great memorable parts with its military style mountain climb in the "only one shot" part with Bang giving his death glare and lets not forget the hip thrust with Himchan mimicking with his arms. During the live performance we get to see when they get up as each gun cock passes during the bridge after they fall in a circle to reveal Youngjae. Love little extra things like that. Sad that Himchan can't perform with them right now and possibly in the concert but his health comes first.

Rain Sound was pre-released in January and at first I loved that they were finally promoting a slower song. Though after watching the video i realized maybe it was a good thing all their previous title tracks were upbeat. This is a great mellow r&b song obviously about heartbreak. I'm a sucker for acoustic guitars in songs and I'm also a sucker for Himchans one speaking line with his deep, usually rough voice but this time its smoother. And the way Zelo begins his rap with a sort of lazy flow before going into his normal rapping is real cool. They always do well with mellow/ballad songs so this was another beautiful song but the video was nothing close. They all looked great but that's about it for positives. The "acting" wasn't good, there was so many random things that nothing in the video made sense and the choreography was really lackluster. I mean, seriously with the Jesus pose spin. I don't expect intricate choreography with ballads but they might as well not have had any.

Coma is my favorite off the album and was also featured in the One Shot video. The song is about heartbreak but its not a typical ballad. Its a dramatic orchestra/piano instrumental which does well to back up Bang's passionate rap, Song Ji eun's beautiful one line and the spiteful lyrics. It all comes together to make a beautifully arranged song.
0(zero) is a sort of alternative rock song and has the rap verses taking a dig at arrogant idols and how they are held up on pedestals. Its an okay song but again the lyrics are just awesome save for "loco get a coco". I guess they ran out of Engrish and decided to go for Spangrish. I'm also getting tired of the m overusing the "oh eh oh's" and other random unnecessary ad libs. In my opinion they ruin the vibe of the song like in Voicemail.
Overall the album is less than stellar but its B.A.P giving great messages, attitude and absolutely no aegyo so its good in my book. Wishing they had added Bang's creepy song Sacramental Confession on the album. It would have definitely added some spice to the album. And I wish Himchan a speedy recovery from his broken fingers.
